I apologize for the peculiar title to this message, but it’s become a catch phrase of sorts in recent weeks. The joke goes that the shoe horn and vaseline will be essential tools for prying me out of the studio to get on the road and support this record that I won’t stop making. We’re pretty close in here, and it’s starting to get exciting. We’ve had the good fortune of doing some extra sessions with Rob Cavallo (Green Day, Jawbreaker, and million others), and in a perfect world we will be finished with Jack’s third album, People and Things, by the end of this month. I’m really looking forward to these songs seeing the light of day after all the love and hard work that’s gone into them. Even more than that I’m eager to get back on the road and play them for you all. It’s going to be a great year, between Coachella, a headlining tour, and going out with Guster. I’ve loved Guster since picking up their record, Keep It Together, years ago. They’ve made another amazing album that just came out, and I can’t wait to be hearing the tunes side stage.
I’ve said it a million times, but playing outside in the summer is by far one of my favorite environments for a show, and there is going to be a lot of that this summer, so please come hang for some good music and good times. I feel like I’ve been gone for forever, and there’s so much to catch up on, but I promise when this is all done I will get everyone up to speed. -A
