F*#K YEAH: Killswitch Engage Welcomes Back Former Singer Jesse Leach

DO YOU SEE THIS PICTURE RIGHT ABOVE? This is the official 2012 Killswitch Engage with former and newly appointed singer Jesse Leach.

I don’t know about you, but I am pumped for the new album that they are working on and the tour that will follow. I’m excited mostly because Jeese left the band before I was able to see them live when he was still around but second chances sometimes do happen. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Howard as their singer and he will be missed as their frontman but something about Jesse being back brings a wave of fresh air back to a band thats been pretty much dormant for almost two years.

Last time Jesse played with KsE 3/19/10

The band explained that Leach auditioned for the role he once called his own and blew everyone away. “After much deliberation and careful consideration, we are pleased to announce that Jesse Leach has rejoined Killswitch Engage,” the gents said, in an official statement. “Our job was to find the best person to fill Howard’s shoes: a decision based on talent and not familiarity.

“Truth be told, Jesse blew us away in auditions. The room seemed charged with electricity. He commanded both new and old material, and proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he wanted to do this. The choice became very clear and apparent.”

Jesse Leach Has Rejoined Killswitch Engage

Jesse has come home. Killswitch Engage’s original singer Jesse Leach has rejoined the band after a month that Howard Jones officially left the band because of personal issues. I’m happy and sad about this, Happy to see Jeese back because he was the singer when I got into Killswitch and sad to see Howard not continuing with the band since he was the singer for the past three albums, so he kind of grew on me. But I am so glad the new singer is Jesse. Welcome Back!

Howards Statement:
Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me. Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, MikeD, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can’t stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it’s going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin’ Howard

Killswitch Engage and Singer Howard Jones Part Ways

Today January 4th, 2012, Howard Jones and Killswitch Engage have parted ways. I feeling like I am delivering a eulogy. That’s how I feel considering I’ve been listening to KsE for about 10 years, and them being one of the bands that heavily influenced me in getting into metal. It’s a sad day for fans that love this band and that have been keeping this music alive.

The announcement was given through their Facebook and official website. In the statement, the band does not disclose the reason for this decision. The January 4, 2012 Facebook status read on:

“To our family, friends and fans: We have decided to continue on without Howard Jones as the singer of Killswitch Engage. We love Howard and are thankful for the nine years that we’ve had him in the band. Out of respect for everyone involved we will not be discussing the specific reasons behind this decision. Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for sticking by us for all this time. We really do appreciate it and we very much look forward to having a new record for all of you in the not too distant future that we can all be proud of. Sincerely, Adam, Joel, Mike & Justin.”

Soon after the announcement, rumors circulated about All That Remains frontman, Phil Labonte would be taking over for the departed Jones. Phil quickly shot down the rumors on Facebook.

END OF AN ERA: Original Chimaira Guitarist’s Leaving at the End of 2011

In a statement from vocalist Mark Hunter, he gives some details on the guitarists departure.

“I would like to start off by thanking our fans for a great tour. This last run was a blast, and truly the most fun we’ve had in a long while. The energy from the audience was exactly what we needed, and a welcoming return. Thank you guys!

Unfortunately, as much fun as we were having, behind the scenes we were aware of some unfortunate realities that prevented us from “living the dream” and having the time of our lives. We had another bomb to drop on the fans.

Early in July we were informed that Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries would be leaving Chimaira at the end of 2011. Of course this was a huge blow, but there were no hard feelings. We understand that life invades art, everything runs its course, and we have to take different paths.

We respect their decision and wish them only the best. We made heavy metal history together and that is all that matters at the end of the day.

Chimaira Christmas 12 will be their last show, and we’ve been preparing to make it one that you’ll never forget.

I would personally like to thank Rob and Matt for all of their hard work, years of service to Chimaira, amazing songs, and for their friendship. Together we built something special that will remain for generations to come. I’m looking forward to spending another 5 weeks on the road with two of the best (and criminally underrated) guitarists in modern metal.

What’s next for Chimaira in 2012? More on that very soon.

Rather than try and make light of unpleasant news, or downplay this by hyping up a new line-up, let’s take a few to honor Rob and Matt.

My favorite solo of Rob’s is on The Heart Of It All and my favorite riff of Matt’s is The Dehumanizing Process. I’ll be cranking those today. What about you?

See you in Detroit.”

– Mark

Matt & Rob at their best!

Official Announcement Regarding Motionless in White parting ways with Guitarist TJ Bell

To all our concerned fans.

We want to clear up all the confusion about the situation with Tj and our band parting ways. We have made the decision to let Tj go from MIW based on many issues we’ve been having with him over the years. As some of you may know.. Tj left our band in the middle of touring with us to fill in on bass for Escape The Fate and gave us NO warning whatsoever before he left. As we came to find out… TJ told ETF’s management and Craig that he had already asked us in MIW how we felt about it and that we agreed. That was NOT the case at all. The Truth is that he showed up to practice 2 days before we left for tour and told us about ALL of this for the first time and said that it was already set in motion and we didn’t have a choice because he was “doing what’s best for TJ”. He basically fucked us last minute. Then to top it off.. decided to let us know that instead of leaving for 5 days as he had mentioned when first telling us about all of this… he was now going to be gone for 9 days. …… he told us this with only a week before leaving with NO time to find a fill in for him whatsoever :/ If our live performance didn’t HEAVILY depend on having 2 guitarists then it wouldn’t have been a huge deal to us.. but unfortunately having 1 guitar player in a band like ours causes your show to suffer greatly. We agreed to let TJ go (even though we didn’t have a choice anyway since TJ already had fights booked and ETF payed for it all) because Chris personally spoke to Craig and sorted all of this confusion out. We love ETF and Craig so we had no problem helping them out even though it was putting us in such a tough spot.

So knowing all of that story, now its time for you guys to see the REAL reasons we let TJ go. The more major reason that we made this tough decision is because a few days before he ended up leaving, all of us in the band got into a pretty big conversation and Tj stated his admission to us that he doesn’t like any of us and is only in MIW because he doesn’t want to go home and have to work a real job. To us… we shouldn’t have to have someone in our band who doesn’t like any of us or who isn’t as passionate as we are about everything pertaining to MIW and our fans which you obviously know we care about greatly. We are over people always asking “Where’s Tj??” because he refuses to go meet fans after shows. We are over the fact that he chooses to get drunk and high everyday and cares more about partying than anything else. I’m sure ANY of you reading this can agree that when you’re in a position like we are, where we are given an AMAZING chance to play music around the world.. you want someone in the band who ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE BAND AND THE FANS. Tj has not only been our guitar player.. but more importantly… has been our friend since the beginning of his time in the band… we let all of the things he does that complicate our band slide by without ever threatening to kick him out because he was our friend. So naturally you can see how shocked we were by him saying he cant deal with all of us and why it makes sense for the better of the band.

Hopefully you guys will understand where we are coming from as it wasn’t an easy decision and was not done out of revenge or anger or disrespect. We have NO plans to carry on any drama with Tj over this as we wish him the best and none of us have any bad blood with him personally. We simply just want what’s best for MIW and hope you can all respect that as well knowing that we did this for all the right reasons. Thank you all for all of your amazing support and concern with everything as always<3

Tarcy Thomason explains his departure from Artist Vs. Poet

Here is Tracy Thomason’s official departure statement:

There is not an easy way for me to start this… This is to anyone who has ever supported me, or Artist Vs Poet. First of all… I truly believe that i’ve come to know, and become friends with, some of the most genuine fans ever. And that is why this is so hard for me to say:
Shortly after the Fearless Friends tour i made the decision to part ways with Artist Vs Poet, i know… I got to the point before i explained myself, well here it is folks. I made my dream come true and married my best friend Heather early last year and also had my first born child Lennon Cody Thomason. This has been the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me, just seeing my wife and baby boy everyday means the world to me, which is why i had to make the decision to stay at home for good. Quitting something that was my life for so many years, meeting such amazing people like (to name a few) Canada, Devin, Brooke, Amanduhhhh, Maddie, Brittni, Laura, Fat Kat, Laura  not to mention my new family that i had the pleasure of touring with, and the best label out there, Fearless Records, has has been hard for me…. but i gained so much more, there is no way i could put into words how happy i am. I could not be any more lucky to have the family that i have.
On that note i want nothing but the best for Joe Kirkland and Jason Dean continuing with Artist Vs Poet. I love those guys and hope nothing but the best for them!
In no way, shape, or form done with music. If you would like to keep in touch with me, my family, and new beginnings, stay tuned.
In the words of John LENNON: “Life is what happens to you while you’re  busy making other plans”
I love you guys and thank you for everything!
